A Place for my Feet

After running for over 10 years it’s safe to say that I’ve ran in a variety of roads, trails, and unfortunately even swamps. I’ve laced up in at least 8 different states, as far west as California, and as far south a North Carolina. I’ve ran and raced over some rolling grassy golf courses, some icy fast farms, and some treacherous oceanside cliffs. However as enticing as some of these locations are, I’m pretty sure that nothing beats the places I grew up running on!

There are just some places that I would always go back to given the chance, I am referring to the Queensbury High School Cross Country trail, Chautauqua Country State Lands, the logging roads on West Mountain. However the venue that takes the prize for me if the potter woods tree farm in Queensbury. Being a tree farm, it is a vast wooded location, and within it are miles of trails. For some reason unknown to me, no roots, no rocks or me these trees are nearly perfectly manicured to worry about, just smooth dirt. I’ve run as far as 14 in miles in these trails without becoming bored or crossing a road. The trails also encircle a reservoir, with which is freshening to look at, and jump in might I add. Whenever I am near this trail system it is my first instinct to go run here, and if you saw it you wouldn’t blame me! I have to this day found a place to run that cant match what potter woods has to offer, some come close, but cant ever beat it out.
